At Conscious Fashionistas we believe that over-consumption of material goods poses a threat, not just to our wallets, but also to the ecological well-being of the planet. The fashion industry specifically promotes the idea that constant consumerism is an absolute necessity. What this advertising does not reveal is the devastating ecological cost to produce new clothing. This cost includes the use of natural resources in production, sweatshop labor, and petroleum fuels for transportation by sea and on land.
We believe that buying new is largely unnecessary. Conscious Fashionistas proposes that buying used clothing is part of living an ecologically responsible lifestyle by using already created materials, rather than exploiting new resources. To this end, we trust there is enough in the world to go around, so we comb vintage stores for the best in thrift fashion and bring intention to the shopping process. We then deliver these garments to you at events rich in music, art, and a lively fashion show.
Our goal is to create events where people can satisfy their desires to live green, as well as indulge their secret fashion fetishes.
Conscious Fashionistas strives to create community and promote creative self-expression. In our dressing rooms, women zip each other into dresses. Among our racks, men remark on all the gorgeous women and wonder when their line will grace our space. On our dance floor, everyone gets rambunctous.
